These Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Cada Uno mobile app (the “App”) and related services. Before creating an account, the App asks you to read and accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or use the service.
1. Parties
- Service provider: the developer of Cada Uno (referred to as “Cada Uno” or “we”), based in Argentina.
- User: the person who downloads and uses the App (referred to as “you” or the “User”).
2. Service description
Cada Uno is a tool for recording, organizing, and splitting shared expenses and income. The App lets you:
- Create groups of people (for trips, outings, households, and similar purposes).
- Record expenses and income, say who paid or received the money, and split each movement equally, by assigned shares, or by exact amounts.
- Calculate balances and show suggested ways to settle them, with or without transfer simplification depending on the group setting.
- Record transfers between members that users report as completed outside the App.
- Invite other people to join a group through an invitation link.
Groups and movements can use different currencies available in the App. Group balances are shown in the group currency, using the exchange rates applied to its movements. Amounts are recorded in cents of the relevant currency.
Cada Uno is not a financial institution, bank, wallet, or payment service provider. It does not receive, hold, manage, or transfer funds between users.
3. Acceptance of these Terms
The Privacy Policy is a separate document that explains how we process personal data. Both documents are available in the App before you create an account.
4. Account types
4.1 Guest user
- You can create groups, record movements, and use the other available features without registering an email. A guest account is created using a device identifier and a session stored locally.
- Guest limitations: you cannot sign in to this account on another device using email and password. If you lose the device, erase its data, or uninstall the App, we cannot guarantee that you will be able to recover access to the guest account.
- You can upgrade it to a registered account to sign in with an email and password.
4.2 Registered user
- You can create an account with an email and password to sync your data across devices.
- If you register from a guest account, you keep all your groups and data; your user identifier remains the same.
- Keep your password confidential and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.
4.3 Upgrading from guest to registered
- You can upgrade your guest account to a registered account in the App (Profile → Create account).
- The upgrade keeps all your existing groups and data.
5. Acceptable use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
- Use the App for illegal, fraudulent, or abusive purposes.
- Attempt to access accounts, data, or systems belonging to Cada Uno or other users without authorization.
- Interfere with the operation of the App, its servers, or the network, or attempt to bypass its security measures.
- Introduce malware, send spam, or upload illegal content or content that infringes third-party rights.
- Use bots, scripts, or other tools in a way that overloads the service, bypasses usage limits, or accesses information without authorization.
- Share access credentials in a way that exposes other people's data without authorization.
Suspension for violations is governed by Section 15.
6. User content
6.1 Ownership
You retain any rights you have in the content you provide, such as titles, descriptions, and receipts. Uploading it to the App does not transfer ownership to Cada Uno. Other people's data remains subject to their applicable rights and protections.
6.2 Permission to use
When you upload content, you authorize Cada Uno to store, process, and show it to people who have access to the group, solely to provide the service and maintain its shared history under these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
6.3 Responsibility
Check that the amounts, names, participants, dates, and other information you enter are correct, and that you have the right to share other people's information or receipts in the group. If you enter an incorrect amount, calculations will use it until it is corrected. Cada Uno does not verify whether each reported expense or transfer actually occurred; this does not limit our responsibility for errors attributable to the operation of the service.
Do not upload receipts containing illegal or malicious content or content that violates another person's rights. Receipts are stored to show them in the relevant group and are subject to the visibility and retention rules in the Privacy Policy.
6.4 Deletion
You can delete movements and, if you manage a group, delete that group from the App. When you delete your account, its identifying data and groups with no other linked accounts are deleted. In groups with other linked accounts, the shared history—including movements, receipts, and the name assigned to your member—remains visible to members and is unlinked from your account. If you managed one of those groups, its administration is transferred to another member. The Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
7. Group invitations
- Each group member has a unique invitation token that generates an invitation link.
- The link lets another person take that member's place in the group.
- Share the link only with the person you want to invite. Anyone who opens it can see the information needed for the invitation and, if they accept, join the group. Contact us if you think it was shared by mistake.
- The invitation token stops working once it is accepted or the relevant member is deleted.
8. Calculations and balances
- The App calculates balances and suggested transfers from expenses, income, splits, exchange rates, and transfers entered by users. Suggestions can be simplified or direct depending on the group setting; they do not guarantee a mathematically minimal number of payments.
- Suggested settlements are one way to settle calculated balances. They are not payment orders or financial instructions.
- Before paying, check the movements, participants, amounts, currency, and recipient. Members agree on and make any payment through services outside Cada Uno.
- Recording a transfer in the App only adds it to the history and changes calculated balances. It does not mean Cada Uno verified that the money was transferred.
- Cada Uno does not execute, authorize, process, or reverse external payments, or decide who is right in disputes between members about expenses, payments, or balances.
9. Service availability
- The service may be interrupted for maintenance, updates, technical incidents, infrastructure or telecommunications failures, or other events beyond our reasonable control. We will try to restore it within a reasonable time given the circumstances.
- We may add, change, or remove features for technical, security, or service-development reasons. We will communicate relevant changes through reasonable means and respect any rights that may apply to services already paid for, if any are offered in the future.
10. App updates
- We may release App updates with new features, improvements, or fixes.
- For security, compatibility, or infrastructure changes, some features may require a minimum App version. We will communicate that requirement through reasonable means.
- Compatibility depends on the device, Android or iOS version, and its settings. We cannot guarantee operation on every possible combination; this does not affect your rights regarding failures attributable to the service.
11. Intellectual property
- The Cada Uno brand, design, software, icons, logos, and original content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
- You may use the App for its intended purposes while following these Terms. This permission does not transfer rights in Cada Uno's own materials or affect rights in the content you provide.
12. Security and operation
We take reasonable measures to protect the service and the information it processes. No system can promise absolute security, no errors, or continuous availability. If you notice an issue affecting your data or calculations, contact us so we can review it.
These statements do not reduce any guarantees or rights provided by law.
13. Liability and external payments
Cada Uno is responsible for its own obligations and for damages legally attributable to it. Each party's liability is assessed based on the facts and applicable law; these Terms do not set a general liability cap or waive the right to bring a claim.
When a user enters incorrect data or chooses to make a payment through a bank, wallet, or other external service, those events must be distinguished from an error attributable to Cada Uno. The App does not take part in authorizing, executing, or reversing those payments. If the service itself fails, this statement does not remove any applicable liability.
Cada Uno also does not arbitrate disputes between members about whether an expense occurred, who paid it, or how much was transferred. You can correct records you are authorized to change and contact us if you identify an App failure.
14. External services and events beyond our control
The App may link to or interact with third-party services, such as app stores, banks, or wallets you choose to use. Their terms and operations are governed by those services. Cada Uno does not control how they operate, without limiting our responsibilities for our own service under applicable law.
Extraordinary events beyond our reasonable control, such as widespread infrastructure or telecommunications outages, may temporarily prevent the service from being provided. When possible, we will communicate relevant interruptions and try to restore the service; this clause does not restrict rights provided by law.
15. Suspension and termination
- We may limit or suspend access when there is reasonable evidence of fraud, abusive use, unauthorized access, or a serious breach of these Terms that affects other people or the service's security. We will try to explain the reason and provide a way to contact us, unless doing so would compromise an investigation or security.
- You can close your account at any time in the App (Profile → Delete account).
- When you delete your account, its identifying data is deleted; the shared group history is kept unlinked from your account as explained in Section 6.4 and the Privacy Policy.
If we decide to close the service, we will try to give reasonable advance notice and explain what will happen to the data and any active paid service. We will respect any applicable rights to access, recovery, or refunds under the law and terms in effect at that time.
16. Future features
The App shows a Premium features screen, but actual purchases and subscriptions are not yet enabled. Purchase and restore buttons say that they are in development. Before offering paid features, we will provide their features, price, duration, and applicable terms.
For now, the App is free to use and contains no advertising or in-app payments.
17. Changes to these Terms
- We may change these Terms when necessary. We will notify you about significant changes in the App or by email if you are registered.
- Continuing to use the App after notification means you accept the amended Terms.
- If you do not accept the changes, you can stop using the App and delete your account.
18. Governing law and jurisdiction
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the Argentine Republic.
- You can contact us at support@cadauno.app to try to resolve a problem. This does not limit your right to contact consumer protection authorities or the courts with jurisdiction under applicable law.
19. Severability
If a court with jurisdiction finds any provision of these Terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
