This Privacy Policy explains how Cada Uno collects, uses, shares, retains, and protects information when providing its shared-expense service.
1. Controller and contact
Cada Uno is responsible for processing the data collected through the app. For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@cadauno.app.
The app is offered from Argentina and takes into account Law No. 25,326 on Personal Data Protection and its regulations.
2. Data we process
- Account: name, email, email verification status and date, the date and time when you accepted the Terms and this Privacy Policy, and a securely hashed password for registered users; name and a random installation identifier for guest users.
- Preferences: primary currency, theme, language, and Pro subscription status.
- How you heard about Cada Uno: if you choose to answer during onboarding, we store only the selected option, such as a social network, a recommendation, or AI / ChatGPT. This is optional, and you can skip it without losing any features. We do not ask who recommended the app or request additional text.
- Groups and members: group name, icon, and currency; member names; and invitation links or tokens.
- Movements: expenses, income, and transfers; title, type, amount, currency, exchange rate, category, date, payer or recipient, and how the amount is split among members.
- Receipts: images that you voluntarily take with the camera or select from your gallery and attach to a movement. Camera permission is requested only when you choose to take a photo; the app does not record video or audio for receipts.
- Security: authentication tokens and minimum technical request data, such as IP address, date, errors, and network metadata that the server may temporarily log to operate and protect the service.
The app does not access contacts, precise location, or audio. It does not use advertising identifiers, behavioral analytics, targeted advertising, or tracking tools.
3. How we use data
We use data to create and manage accounts, verify email addresses through messages sent from support@cadauno.app, manage groups and movements; show history to authorized members; calculate balances and suggested transfers; process invitations; remember preferences; sync information across devices; respond to questions; and protect the service against errors or abuse.
We use the optional onboarding answer to measure in aggregate which channels help people discover the App. It remains associated with your account and is deleted with it; it is not shared with group members, sent to advertising platforms or AI assistants, or used to build advertising profiles.
We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising or advertising profiles.
4. Visibility and recipients
Member names, movements, amounts, splits, and receipts in a group are visible to users who belong to that group. When you create or accept an invitation, you understand that this is a shared record.
We may use infrastructure, hosting, storage, or app distribution providers strictly to operate Cada Uno. We may also disclose information when required by a valid legal obligation. These recipients are not authorized to use it for their own advertising.
5. Retention and deletion
We retain data while your account is active and as long as needed to provide the service. You can delete your account from Profile → Delete account or request deletion at cadauno.app/account-deletion.
When you delete your account, we permanently delete your account name, credentials, email, installation identifier, tokens, preferences, acquisition source, and legal acceptance date. Groups with no other users are deleted together with their movements, invitations, and receipts.
If a group has other users, we keep its shared accounting history so their balances and records are not changed. The member name assigned within that group remains part of the shared record, but is unlinked from the deleted account and cannot be associated with another account. If you administered the group, ownership is transferred to another member. Shared movements and receipts remain visible while the group exists and are deleted when its new owner deletes the group.
6. Security
We apply reasonable measures, including HTTPS/TLS communication, securely hashed passwords, tokens stored using the device's secure storage, non-enumerable identifiers for shared resources, and group-based access controls. No system connected to the Internet can guarantee absolute security.
7. Your rights
You can request access, correction, updating, portability, or deletion of your data by writing to support@cadauno.app. You can also edit account details or start deletion from the app.
8. International transfers
Technical providers may process data outside Argentina. Where applicable, we will take reasonable measures to protect it in accordance with this policy and applicable law.
9. Children
Cada Uno is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us to request its deletion.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy when the app, its providers, or applicable obligations change. We will show the current version date and communicate significant changes through reasonable means.
